The acquisition of inshore sailing clipper Elizabeth, laid foundation for the Tallship Company. During her conversion in 1991 to a modern sailing ship, the Tallship Company preserved the typical features and originality of a Dutch flat bottom sailing ship. In doing so, the goal of the shipping company was set: to convert traditional ships to luxurious sailing charter ships, while maintaining as much as possible their traditional appearance and atmosphere.
Facilities on board
The triple masted clipper Elizabeth is able to carry up to 60 guests for day-sailings and has berths for 30 guests in spacious cabins, each featuring toilet and shower. A large saloon and generous deck space guarantee a comfortable stay on board. The ship is of course is manned by experienced crew and all the necessary modern navigational equipment ensure a safe trip on the Dutch inland waters.
Experience nature with a sailing adventure
With her flat bottom and shallow draught, the Elizabeth can venture where even small yachts would run aground. At low water the clipper can beach itself on a sandbank in the middle of the Waddenzee and continue the trip when the water returns. Staying on board the Elizabeth is not only an exciting sailing adventure but also provides a unique way to experience the natural environment.
