Milemaker Cascais - Olbia with the Atlantis

The Atlantis is going to the sunny South again! This trip is all about sailing! We have a goal and we know when we need to achieve it, so we'll also be sailing throughout the night to cover as many miles as possible in a day. Preferably under sail, as it not only more sustainable and economical, but also the ultimate way to enjoy this adventure on a tallship! A milemaker trip is often planned with some leeway to allow for bad weather, however if the weather gods are well intentioned we might be able to use the time gained through the favourable winds to get you ashore for an excursion or a stopover.

When you join us in Cascais you will miss the Bay of Biscay, however you'll be perfectly in time to admire the phosphorescence that can at times be seen at night. On this part of the crossing we also are like to encounter dolphins and whales. And if it's your lucky night, the dolphins will come out to play at the bow and be illuminated by the phosphorescence. An incredible sight that you will remember forever!

When you join the crew for a watch during the night, you can let yourself be enchanted by the wide starry sky. You will most likely discover constellations that you will rarely see on land as it's not dark enough there. As with all our other trips, you can be as active as you wish and help with the sails or join the crew during their watches. Most guests find it a great experience gives them a deeper appreciation of the special holiday you've chosen with us. We can not promise anything in terms of wind and weather, but our crew will do their best to provide you a fantastic crossing with delicious food and friendly service. Experience sailing and pure nature with us on board the Atlantis.

Recommendations for your trip:
Sporty casual clothing (suitable for wind, weather and rain), possibly a bathing suit. We recommend using soft travelbags, instead of hard case cases, as they are not suitable for stowing in the cabins. Remember to take your passport/ identity card and cash to settle your onboard account at the end of the trip. Card payment is not provided for.
